Our story
Why We Built This Site
Not because we're eye doctors. Because we're screen people — and we got tired of squinting.
It started with a very boring problem
A few years ago, one of us — a writer who spent most of her waking hours in front of a laptop — started noticing something she couldn't quite name. Not pain, exactly. More like a persistent low-grade discomfort. A tightness. A heaviness. The kind of thing you learn to ignore because it's always there.
She tried the usual things. Eye drops. Blue light glasses. "Taking breaks" (which mostly meant switching from her laptop to her phone). Nothing really helped. The problem wasn't that her eyes were damaged — it was that they never fully got to rest.
"The problem wasn't that her eyes were damaged — it was that they never fully got to rest."
When she discovered heated eye masks — and specifically Eye Ease — the difference was immediate enough to be surprising. Not dramatic. Not life-changing in some grand sense. Just: the tightness eased. The evenings got better. Sleep came a little easier.
She told a few people. They tried it. Same thing happened. And so this site was born — not as a medical resource, not as a review aggregator, but as a straightforward answer to a question a lot of screen-heavy people are quietly asking: is there something that actually helps?
We think there is. And we built this site to say so clearly, honestly, and without the usual wellness-industry noise.
Our mission
Honest information for people who live on screens
We're not here to sell you a lifestyle. We're here to give you a straight answer about one specific product — and to do it without the hype, the fake urgency, or the vague wellness-speak that makes most review sites unreadable.
Honesty over hype
We only recommend products we believe in. If something has a drawback, we say so. Our readers are smart — they can handle the truth, and they deserve it.
Comfort is serious
Physical comfort isn't a luxury. When your eyes hurt at the end of every day, that affects your mood, your sleep, your work, and your relationships. We take that seriously.
Simple over complicated
The best solutions are usually the simplest ones. We're not interested in complex routines or expensive regimens. We look for things that work quietly and consistently.
Transparency about affiliates
This site uses affiliate links. When you buy through our links, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we'd recommend regardless.
Who we are
We're a small team of writers, researchers, and chronic screen-users. Between us, we've worked in software, journalism, design, and education — all fields that involve staring at screens for most of the day.
We're not ophthalmologists. We're not medical professionals. We don't make clinical claims and we don't pretend to. What we are is a group of people who've personally experienced the kind of eye discomfort that comes from modern screen-heavy work — and who've spent time researching and testing products that might help.
Eye Ease is the product we keep coming back to. Not because we're paid to say so (we earn affiliate commissions, which we disclose clearly), but because it's the one that's made a consistent difference in our own routines.
If you have questions, concerns, or just want to share your own experience — we'd genuinely like to hear from you.
Affiliate disclosure
This site contains affiliate links to Eye Ease. If you purchase through our links, we receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we keep the site running.
Our editorial opinions are not influenced by affiliate relationships. We only recommend products we've personally used and believe provide genuine value. If we didn't think Eye Ease was worth recommending, we wouldn't have built a site about it.
